Cara House

Cara House provides specialist accommodation and support services for high-risk young women with 24-hour live in house parents providing s nurturing and homely environment.

Cara House is set up as a normal home and careful planning and consideration takes place to ensure that the adolescent needs of our young women are considered and that everyday normal opportunities are provided in a loving, nurturing and family atmosphere.

The young women at Cara are encouraged to participate in the day-to-day happenings of a home by actively taking part in activities such as grocery shopping, meal planning, household chores and cooking and budgeting.

The girls are encouraged to attend school and to participate in regular outdoor activities and programs including art and craft, health and wellbeing, and cultural and positive living experiences. Cara House incorporates an art room separate to the main residence, which is the girls’ space to work on projects and maintain their own creative environment.
